Just another day and another month older

Today is just a normal day. Nothing exciting except that Keira and I are both a little under the weather. I was really sick last night with high fever, shivers, and flu like symptoms. I'm feeling a bit better today but I think Keira is not. She is running a little temp and is just not her peppy self. We've also reached that 19 month mark! Yea for Keira! Happy 19th month. I just realized that I can't say a year and a half anymore.

Brodie sent me flowers yesterday at work which made my day! He is so good at bringing me flowers but normally he just brings them home. So I was really excited to get the call to come down to the office because there were flowers waiting for me. Very sneaky of him! It made my day. No plans tonight...just being together as a family is all we need.

Here is a quick and most memorial Valentines day...

Two years ago from today...we found out we were having a little girl! I still have that sonogram pic on the fridge. It was a wonderful gift for us all.

This is the last picture I took of Keira at 18 months old. We were about to go to gymnastics!

We are expecting!

A new member is joining our family. We are happy to announce that we are expecting a new puppy! We have been contemplating when would be the perfect time for this. We have been talking about getting a dog for years but knew the time wasn't right. We finally found the perfect little guy for us and we are ready. We are getting a golden retriever and are so excited. He was born Jan. 24 so he's only 2 weeks right now. His eyes aren't even opened yet. Since he is so little, he has to stay with mommy, daddy, and his siblings for a bit longer. We will take our long road trip to Oklahoma on March 14 to go pick him up. Yes....he is a born and bread Sooner from OK. I am so excited for Keira, for she loves dogs so much. She loves playing with Reese and Paddy when she is at the grandparents house and I know they will become the best of friends. I had a puppy growing up and have so many memories with Muffin and I can't wait for Keira to do the same. Here are some pics of our new little guy.

No name for sure but we have thought of a few....Bauer (Jack Bauer from 24) and Dublin top our list at the moment.

Ta Da!

Keira started a gymnastics class this week at ASI. She is so active and so daring that I knew she would love a class like this. She is in an 18 month old class and is the youngest one. Yesterday was our free trial day and it was crazy! She loved it so much, but we had some meltdowns...Let me explain.

When we got there, we were introduced to her teacher, Mr. Phil. He went over a few things with me. He said first we would get on the trampoline and that most kiddos starting off at 18 months really don't like the the tramps and would probably not get on. Keira would not get off! She loved it and pitched a fit when we had to move to the next station. She would jump really high and had so much fun. Mr. Phil said that he was really impressed and surprised with her jumping abilities. I was so proud!

When we finally got to the next center, we all had to sit down, sing songs and talk about the letter of the day "B". Keira was not wanting to sit. She wanted to jump, run, and do anything else besides sit still. So when I had to make her sit, she was pissed and was screaming and throwing the biggest fit I have ever seen! I had to take her away and let her calm down for a few before we started again. She did finally calm down.

Next we went to a rotation of bars, somersaults, jumping, handstand and back kick over practices things. After every activity they do, they stand up and put their arms over their head and say, "Ta Da!" Keira has been saying that all night now! She did really good at all the activities but really did not want to wait in line with the other kids so there was lots of screaming and yelling. She loves the bars, and Mr. Phil says she has a lot of upper body strength. I knew that because she started pulling herself up so early. And she is super strong! So basically we had a night of screaming, with some stunts. But I was kinda expecting something like that. After all the rotations are finished, we got to go to "the pit". This is a huge pit filled with foam squares. The kids get to sit on a swing and fall into the pit. Wow, she loved it. And when it was time to leave, I had to literally dive into the pit and chase her down, and drag her out while she is kicking and screaming. Lets just say, I got a good workout at her gymnastics class.

I went ahead and signed Keira up for the Friday night class, so we got to go again tonight. She did about 1000 times better tonight! I was so happy. Less screaming (but yes, still some!), more waiting, and following directions! Yea! She actually is kinda doing somersaults almost on her own! And she looks so freakin cute in her leotards. And, she got out of "the pit" on her own. I know that the more we go, the more she will get the hang of transitions. So, overall, I am so happy to be doing this with her.

Brodie's soccer season started up tonight which means Keira and I are on our own on Fridays from now on. Girls night out! When it gets warmer, we will probably start going to some of his games but for now, just me and her! Which makes me happy! I will have to come up with some creative fun things to do after gymnastics.

Here is a new video of cute Keira and her cousin Bowen at Ne-Ne and GaGas house...
